Individual Psychotherapy

Why aren’t things going our way?

There are times in all our lives, therapists’ lives included, when we may feel stuck, uncertain, anxious, depressed, grieving, or even out of touch with what we are feeling.

Things may not be “going our way,” and we may be confused as to why.

There may be challenges in relationships at home with spouses, children, extended family members, at work, or in the community.

It’s a virtual certainty that just about everyone experiences some or all the above at one time or another.

Life’s imperfections are generally something we can handle.

Life is not perfect, but often we move through these periods and work things out on our own.

But what if we continue to have these experiences over and over? Or what if we are unable to emerge from them and find ourselves mired?

These are situations in which individual therapy can be enormously helpful.

There are insights a trained therapist can offer.

Individual therapy is a process in which we engage the help of a professional who is experienced and trained in assisting people in the process of understanding the situation in which they find themselves.

Just as importantly, there needs to be understanding of what changes need to be made for things to be different.

Our therapeutic relationship will be respectful and encouraging.

If you choose therapy with me, you can count on several things.

I will help you understand what you’re feeling and why.

You will be heard, supported, encouraged, and challenged; so you will know yourself more deeply, can find your way through your difficulties, and achieve the happiness you deserve.

You will be treated with respect and compassion.

I will be your committed, non-judgmental partner in your process of change. Everything we discuss will be strictly confidential.
